Aleenta Barre is thrilled to support Adelaide’s inaugural Nourish Festival - a celebration of health & wellness that will be held in Rundle Park this Saturday, October 17.
Aleenta Barre is the exclusive barre provider at the event and will
be holding barre classes throughout the festival (tickets are still available - book here now!).
We spoke with festival founder Kate Abraham about what motivated her to start this fantastic event.
Aleenta Barre: What was the inspiration behind Nourish Festival?
Kate Abraham - To create a new experience in something that I am passionate about. The inspiration sparked an idea to create a luxe/high quality festival that combines yoga, fitness, food, health, education and wellness into one unique day out experience. Nourish Festival provides a day out where you can have fun with your friends and leave feeling truly ‘nourished’. As the Director of Adelaide’s Special Event Management company, Keito Events, I wanted to create a new event and Nourish Festival was the perfect combination of my passion and the popular health movement.
AB: Why is Adelaide/SA the right market for this?
KA: Most people live fast paced, day to day lives (including myself) and health and fitness plays a key role in managing your energy and stress levels. South Australians are proud of their unique regions and produce and Nourish Festival combines these two ideas and offers a unique outdoor experience in Rundle Park accompanied by Adelaide’s best healthy food producers and cafes! Many Adelaideans walk/run by the coast or trek up Mount Lofty, followed by brunching/lunching at many of the delicious health cafes Adelaide has to offer (with more opening). Building on this, we believe Nourish Festival will appeal to many South Australians.
AB: What is your measurement of success for Nourish?
KA: Our success is not just measured by the amount of tickets we sell or the number of people that attend the event but also on the feedback we receive. We want the day to be a city retreat where anyone can nourish their mind and body. Already we have had amazing support and feedback from the community and if we can achieve our goals and bring Nourish Festival to Adelaide every year then it will be a very successful event!
AB: How did you choose who you partnered with for this event?
KA: For us it was important to choose the right partners for the event. Using our contacts and advisory committee, we were able to choose partners who we thought would deliver the very best experience to our Nourish attendees. To keep the event experience-based (and not feeling like a health expo) we wanted to choose one key partner for each category of fitness.
AB: What are you most excited about with regards to Nourish?
KA: The day itself (two days to go)!! We are so excited to see everything come together AND to meet all our event attendees. It’s going to be such an amazing day to see people enjoying the classes, speakers, food, day spa and leaving completely ‘nourished’. We have worked very hard to provide the best experiences possible and to see this come to life on the 17th of October will be a very special moment.
